Hunt Seat Riding Lessons
Lessons are offered in Hunt Seat Equitation, we do not offer dressage or western instruction, although our trainer is Fully A.R.I.A. Certified and Insured in General Western, as well as Hunt Seat riding. Our riders learn general horsemanship, how to lead, groom, care for, saddle/tack up, and lead their mounts. Students of all levels also learn how to communicate and interact, with horses, all while keeping safety a priority. We have schooling helmets to loan, but ask all riders to wear long pants, ideally yoga type tights and closed toe shoes (paddock boots) with a heel. Also bringing lots of water and Sunscreen/Bug Spray is a great idea!
We currently serve 4 riding levels*.
1.Beginner: Very little, to no riding experience, needs supervision and assistance with all aspects off riding.
2.Novice: Some experience, able to correctly catch, groom and tack up without assistance. Rider can mount, walk, and trot independently, without assistance.
3.Intermediate: Rider can catch, groom, tack, walk, trot, working on canter, and beginning jumping. Knows diagonals and identify correct leads.
4.Advanced: Rider can catch, groom, tack, walk, trot, canter, and jump completely independently, with several years of show experience.
